A refined freestanding chest of drawers in richly figured rosewood, designed by Kai Kristiansen and manufactured by Feldballes Møbelfabrik.

Unlike the suspended storage cabinets associated with the well-known FM shelving system, this example was made as a freestanding piece with its original tapered legs.
ㅤ
The cabinet shows no mounting cut-outs or later alterations associated with conversion from a wall-mounted module.
ㅤ
Four drawers are arranged symmetrically across the front and finished with sculpted rosewood pulls characteristic of Kai Kristiansen’s work for FM.
ㅤ
Particularly noteworthy is the remarkably expressive rosewood, with strong contrasting grain continuing across the top, sides and drawer fronts.

The piece remains in its original vintage configuration, including its original legs and finish, with no later structural modifications.

A compact and beautifully proportioned example of Danish Modern cabinetmaking from the 1960s.
