Elegant and well-balanced Danish sideboard designed by Kai Winding, crafted in rosewood with a striking grain pattern, brass fittings, and the original key.
Resting on solid oak legs that lend the piece a light and refined proportion.
A sophisticated example of Danish cabinetmaking from the 1960s – timeless, functional, and beautifully crafted.About the designer and maker:
Kai Winding was a Danish furniture designer whose works appear frequently at design auctions and Scandinavian mid-century dealers.
The piece was produced by P. Jeppesen Møbelfabrik, an established Danish cabinetmaker active from the 1940s through the 1960s.
Besides Winding, the company also produced designs by Ole Wanscher and Grete Jalk.
Although highly successful in its time, little documented history remains of the factory today.—
