Nanna Ditzel Trinidad chair
Iconic Trinidad chair (model 3298) designed by Nanna Ditzel for Fredericia Furniture.
Originally designed in 1993, the chair is known for its distinctive sculptural back and seat featuring radiating cut-out slots. The pattern creates a striking play between light and shadow while also giving the chair flexibility and comfort.
Ditzel drew inspiration from the decorative wooden fretwork — often referred to as “gingerbread” — found on traditional houses on the island of Trinidad.
The seat and back are executed in moulded veneer while the chair stands on a slender tubular steel frame, giving the design a light and architectural presence.
The Trinidad chair has become one of the most recognizable pieces of late Danish modern design and is widely used in both private interiors and architectural settings.
Stackable design.
